Tax status certificate

What it is

The tax status certificate is the SAT document with your RFC, name, address and tax regime, and it shows that you are registered in the RFC. You can generate it whenever you need it, if you are already registered.

Time

On the portal, in SAT Móvil, in Oficina Virtual and at an office it is immediate, and the online service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Through SAT ID, the SAT responds no later than five business days, counted from the business day after you send your request.

Requirements

• You must be registered in the RFC.
• To generate it on the portal you need an e.firma or a Contraseña.
• In the SAT Móvil app you need your RFC and your Contraseña.
• In SAT ID you must be a Mexican individual of legal age and use a valid INE voter card.
• At an office, bring a valid official ID; if you have an e.firma, they can identify you with your fingerprint alone.

Steps

1. Go to sat.gob.mx, open Trámites y servicios and then Más trámites y servicios.
2. Choose Constancias, devoluciones y notificaciones and then Constancia de Situación Fiscal.
3. Sign in with your e.firma or Contraseña and click Enviar.
4. Click Generar Constancia; the information opens in another browser window.
5. Print or save your Constancia de Situación Fiscal with the CIF.
6. If you have neither an e.firma nor a Contraseña, request it at satid.sat.gob.mx under Constancia de Situación Fiscal con CIF.
7. You can also get it in SAT Móvil, with an Oficina Virtual appointment at citas.sat.gob.mx under Entrega de Constancias, or at any SAT office without an appointment.
